Looking Back…Looking Forward…

Monday, May 22nd, 2006

THANK YOU, St. Luke, for all of the great feedback about our last sermon series: Grabbing God’s Vision: The Sequel. In this sermon series, we took four weeks together to embrace our God-given vision for St. Luke. Each week, we talked about our mission statement, our vision statement, and then worked through one of our four core values. I thank you for the positive feedback, and I pray you can now all say that our mission statement at St. Luke is: “TO FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST AND SHARE HIS LOVE WITH THE WORLD.”

You might find it interesting that during “Work Day,” May 20th, as many of us gathered to spruce up the grounds and garage of St. Luke, we discovered a flip chart in the garage from 1979–just a year after the birth of St. Luke as a congregation! Would you believe that the four “Core Values” we just walked through were all in place in 1979? It’s a witness to the work God began as St. Luke began, and the work God continues to do in and through this great congregation.

I am very blessed to be your Senior Pastor, and I thank God for each of you! Keep God’s Vision for St. Luke alive!

WELCOME TO OUR NEW WEBSITE!

Monday, May 15th, 2006

If you’re reading this, you’ve found my blog on our new web page! I’m so glad you’ve taken the time to check out our new site.

My prayer is that this website will accomplish at least two things: 1) Be an avenue for visitors to St. Luke to discover what we’re all about and what God is up to through us; and 2) Be a resource and “gathering place” for people who call St. Luke their church home.

For everyone, I pray this site points everyone to the living Lord, who loves us all so very much!

We are dreaming and praying through lots of ideas for this site–so visit often! May God bless you and may He be a part of your day today!

New Testament Challenge

Saturday, May 6th, 2006

We’re into our fifth month of the New Testament Challenge–a chance for us as an entire congregation to read the New Testament in a year. I hope you’re participating and on board with this great opportunity! Don’t forget the forums on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month–we gather in the worship space and talk about the last two weeks’ readings.

I hope to see many of you at our next New Testament Challenge Forum on Thursday, May 18th at 7pm!
