RALLY WEEKEND
Monday, September 11th, 2006I’m not sure what the highlight of Rally Weekend was for me, now that it has come-and-gone, and we’re moving into fall at St. Luke.
It might have been all of the new faces I saw over the weekend at one of our four worship gatherings.
It might have been the launch of our new Saturday Night Worship Service: “The Grove”–the band was rockin’ and we worshipped God in Spirit & Truth.
It might have been welcoming our new Director of Worship: Gary Jurkovich, and having him lead the bands on Saturday Evening and Sunday Morning. He also sang for us and we got a taste of the gifts Gary has and will bring to the people of God at St. Luke.
It might have been the mob of kids coming up for the Children’s Sermons, and seeing their smiling faces all morning.
It might have been finding out over 825 worshippers came to St. Luke over the weekend–unreal…
It might have been the Rejoice Choir, singing at our traditional communion worship; and our spirited traditional worship.
It might have been talking with people who were visiting and hearing them say, “We’ll be back!”
Most of all, I think it was sensing the presence of God among His people all weekend long as we gathered together to worship Him, and not the worship style. God’s spirit was pouring through the place. I think that’s what I noticed the most, and that was the biggest highlight for me.
Thanks, St. Luke, for a memorable first “Rally Weekend” with you!
Blessings, Pastor Tim
