The Bridge
Monday, March 5th, 2007No, not the one many of us have been wondering about for years and years as we pass over the river and ask, “When is this going to be finished?”
I’m talking about THE BRIDGE that God has built to bridge the gap. The gap over our own sin. The gap over our own death. It’s a bridge, His Son, Jesus Christ–the Carpenter–has built for each and every person.
Problem: Not everyone knows this. Oh, everyone sins–but everyone does not know about a loving and forgiving God who has built this bridge for all of us!
Solution: St. Luke steps up and gets serious about one of our Fore Core Values: “Lost people matter to God, and so they matter to us.”
Jesus was heartbroken over a city: Jerusalem. How he wished to gather them into the Kingdom. Do we feel the same obout our community?
Daily, when you cross the bridge God has built for you over sin and death, might you pause as you walk across and ask yourself, “Who could be walking across with me that doesn’t even know this bridge exists…”
Keep the Faith, St. Luke! But don’t you dare keep it to yourself!
