SERMON SERIES FOR LENT:
"The I AM's"

This 5-week series begins on the weekend of February 20/21 and will focus on taking one step closer to knowing Jesus Christ in a personal way. Throughout the gospel of John, Jesus said "I am." "I am the light of the world." "I am the good shepherd." "I am the gate." What did he mean? As we discover what he meant, we will discover more who he is and what that means for our lives.

Do you know who Jesus is? He wants you to know.

This series runs through March 20/27.

PRAYER MINISTRY AT ST. LUKE

We invite your prayer requests. St. Luke has a dedicated prayer team, who offer their prayers to help anyone in need of prayer. Prayers can be requested by:

- filling out a yellow card (in your bulletin or available at the Information Desk) when you come to worship.

- call or email Connie Shirkey
651-459-1222, Ext. 21
cshirkey@stlukecg.com

- request at Saturday night service - on the third Saturday of every month, your prayer requests will be read aloud during worship; on the fourth Saturday of every month, personal prayer time with a minister is available during a special time in worship.

Also:

Prayer Shawls. Shawls are created by caring individuals who pray for the recipient throughout their work. This is another type of prayer which can be requested.

Please contact Connie Shirkey if you can share your gift of prayer on our Prayer Team or Prayer Shawl team.

MUSIC!

St. Luke worships God, not a worship style; so many forms of music are encouraged--bands, choirs, instruments, vocal groups, etc. all make up our music ministry at St. Luke. If you are a musician or vocalist, please contact Gary Jurkovich, Director of Worship at 612.803.0282.

William Temple, former archbishop of Canterbury, defined worship as “quickening the conscience by the holiness of God, feeding the mind with the truth of God, purging the imagination by the beauty of God, opening the heart to the love of God, and devoting the will to the purpose of God.”
